彼此相爱 Love one another 但不要让爱成为枷锁 but make not a bond of love 你们灵魂的两岸之间 让爱成为涌动的海洋 Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. 倒满彼此的杯盏，但不要只从其中一只杯中啜饮 Fill each others cup but drink not from one cup. 将自己的面包赠予对方，但不是享用同一块 Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. 一同欢舞，同享欢愉 Sing and song together and be joyous 但仍要保持自我 but let each one of you be alone. 就像琴弦上的亲，虽为同一旋律而振动 Even as the strings of a lute are alone 但琴弦也是彼此分开 though they quiver with the same music 交出你们的心，但并不紧握对方的心 Give your hearts,but into each other‘s keeping. 因为唯有生命之手，才能紧握你们的心 For only the hand of life can contain your hearts. 应站在一起，但不要靠得太近 And stand together,yet not too near together 因为梁柱分立，才能撑起庙宇 For the pillars of the temple stand apart 而橡树和松柏，也不能在彼此的树荫中生长 and the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other‘s shadow.选自《论婚姻》纪伯伦 On marriage by Kahill Gibron

彼此相爱，但不要做成爱的系链， 只让他在你们灵魂的沙岸中间，做一个流动的海. 彼此斟满了杯，却不要在同一杯中啜饮. 彼此递赠着面包，却不要在同一块上取食. 快乐地在一处舞唱，却仍让彼此静独， 连琴上的那些弦子也是单独的, 虽然他们在同一的音调中颤动. 彼此赠献你们的心，却不要互相保留. 因为只有“生命”的手，才能把持你们的心. 要站在一处，却不要太密迩， 因为殿里的柱子，也是分立在两旁, 橡树和松柏，也不在彼此的荫中生长.
